The Province of North Kalimantan

North Kalimantan is a province of Indonesia, located in the northern part of the island of Kalimantan. The province is bordering neighboring countries, namely the State of sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia.
Currently, North Kalimantan is the youngest province in Indonesia, officially passed into the province in the House of Representatives plenary session on October 25, 2012 by Act No. 20 of 2012.
The Ministry of Home Affairs set the North Kalimantan as the 34th province on April 22, 2013. Along with the determination, the Minister of Home Affairs, Gamawan Fauzi appointed Irianto Lambrie as Acting Governor of North Kalimantan.
In its history of the lands in the northern part of the island of Kalimantan, including Brunei, Sarawak and largely of sabah are in the mandala of Sultanate of Brunei bordering the mandala of Berau State. Since the Hindu period up to the pre-formation of the Sultanate of Bulungan , what is now the territory of the province of North Kalimantan to the Kinabatanganis eastern Sabah is the part of Mandala of Berau which called Nagri Marancang. But lately, a part of the Northern Nagri Marancang (Eastern Sabah) detached from Mandala of Berau are claimed as due to mandala of Brunei, then by the Brunei is awarded to Sultanate of Sulu and than the Suluk tribe began living in the area. Then the British colonial controlled the Northern Nagri Marancang and the Dutch ruled the Southern of Nagri Marancang (now North Kalimantan province).
